IMG_670628-year-old aspiring actor and presenter, Siphesihle Sangweni has officially been crowned the Ultimate vibe king and walked away with R150 000 when he won season 2 of Ultimate House Vibe unlocked by Castle Lite last night.

Siphesihle, better known as Lamza on the show, beat out 11 other contestants including his top 2 counterpart, Isaaih Letsoalo, affectionately known as Bomba eCute when he rose to the top. Lamza’s victory was a landslide win as he scooped most of the judge’s and fan votes on social media.

He threw 2 vibes this season with his first one being on episode 3 against Noxolo where he took the Ultimate House Vibe viewers to his hometown of Finetown. His whole community came out to support him and help him put together a great vibe. And despite the drama with his guest of honour and his guests who missed the mark on the theme, he was lauded on the quality of his food, music and the general vibe with Khanyi Mbau saying: “your vibe was complete”.

He then went on to annihilate Bomba in episode 7 as they went head-to-head in a fierce top 2 battle to find out who the Ultimate vibe king really is.

Lamza threw an extra cold vibe for his guest of honour, Ntando Duma and received rave reviews from Ntando herself, the judges and viewers who skyrocketed his name to number 2 on the Twitter trends list.

The writing was on the wall for Bomba when his final vibe was less than disappointing for the judges while Lamza’s vibe set the bar for all vibes to come.

But, Bomba didn’t leave the show empty handed, he received R20 000 in cash from Castle Lite, as well as a year’s supply of Africa’s biggest premium beer.

ABOUT LAMZA:

Siphesihle Sangweni, aka Lamza is a 28-year-old business man and aspiring media personality from Finetown in the Vaal. He describes himself as a self-motivated person who is very confident and determined to win at life. He entered the show after a colleague begged him to enter because of the vibes he has hosted in Finetown.

“I was chosen because of my character. When you look at me and then look at the rest of the contestants, I am very different from them and I stand out. I am from the township and you can tell, even in the way I speak. I know my story and I am proud to be myself,” he says.

 

Lamza says that he knew from the moment he was cast on the show that this would be a life-changing journey for him. “Winning this show will change my life. I am the type of person who loves giving back to the community and I throw a lot of community benefit events to raise funds for township projects. Winning the R150 000 will help me contribute to this course and give back to the community which has supported me. I will also give back to vulnerable children such as orphans,” he continues.

The Festive season is here and if you know me you will know that I like hosting, just like my family. It’s that time of the year where every day is a Saturday or a good old Sunday. So, I was just thinking about how I will get through this year’s hoho season knowing all the plans I have for 2019. New year, new me stuff hahaha! So, I had a conversation with colleagues of mine about how to survive the festive without breaking the bank and still rise to the challenge of being “the ultimate host”.

Thando is 27 and she is that colleague who never attends anything if it seems like it would be a bore. So, she had a good idea to share, OLX! Interesting, I know.
But it hit me and it all made sense, OLX is so easy to use to buy things to up your hosting game. I immediately logged into my profile and started searching. I was so amazed by the types and sizes of outdoor grills one could find on OLX. I saw what I wanted and I shared the link with my brother as the seller was in his area. The transaction was quick and easy now I own a 2x1m Gas Grill with a flat top on the sides. Perfect for hosting a larger number of people.

Tshepo also logged in looking for a wine chiller and a big blender. He is famous for his margaritas, perfect for this occasion and those pool parties. He located a lady selling Phillips ProBlender 5 blender 2.5KM from his house on OLX. He told me that his blender works magic and came with all the adjustments. Now OLX for me has become my number 1 only shop for all kinds of goods, I am even starting to collect Vintage goods for my place. 

This past weekend Bar One Gym SquAD brought all gym leaders from all over the country to join iconic music producer DJ Tira in Durban North Beach for the finale. All regions including Rustenburg, Bloemfontien, Polokwane, Mamelodi, Gugulethu, Soweto and Kimberly joined the Durban squad for a fun filled afternoon.

The Bar One Gym Squad is back for its fourth year running and will be returning 2019 with even more gym partners. This time around DJ Tira pulled all stops and brought the heat on stage closing off with a performance that had consumers asking for more. All consumers that attended where treated to a full body workout and a Bar One smoothie post the work out.

The lush gardens of Victoria Yards were brought to life by the vibrant sounds and stylistic flow of American rapper J.I.D who performed alongside local superstars Moonchild Sanelly, Kitchen Mess, Sho Madjozi, Black Motion Spoek Mathambo and Manthe Ribane.

In the days leading up to the show piece event South Africans were highly anticipating international act Masego who announced that he was unable to appear at the Flying Fish Flavour Odyssey due to unforeseen circumstances. “South Africa, I don’t like these type of tweets but I am stuck at the airport in London and can’t make it to the Flavour Odyssey w/ @FlyingFishSA. I’ll explain later just know that the show still continues and I promise to make it up to you very soon, I Love you!” he tweeted. The singer apologised to fans promising that he will be making his way to our shores as soon as possible.

Although the headliner didn’t appear at the highly anticipated event, this wasn’t enough to dampen the spirits of event goers who descended on Victoria Yards to watch the jam-packed line up of local and international acts add some flavour! American rapper J.I.D, who is signed to J Cole’s Dreamville Records, proved to be a fan favourite performing new material from his highly anticipated upcoming second studio album DiCaprio2, which is set to drop on Monday 26 November 2018. The lyricist also enticed fans performing hits from his classic offering The Never Story.

In addition to the intentional act, the crowd could not stop themselves from dancing to the energetic sounds of the diverse local line-up that included “Mahke” hitmaker Moonchild Sanelly, Sho Madjozi, Black Motion and upcoming artists Kitchen Mess. The electronic vibrations on Spoek Mathambo and Manthe Ribane kept the crowd moving with their unconventional sounds.

 

The first ever Flavour Odyssey was created to shake the masses out of their everyday routines and add some flavour to their summer in celebration of the brand’s new pack design that changes colour in the sun. Every aspect of the experience was unlike anything you’ve ever seen, centred around a massive sundial, with surprising experiences revealed every hour in music, art, food and fashion. The creative collective The Sartists curated an eye-catching fashion collection that was inspired by the sun which showcased a refreshing fashion adventure which encapsulated the unconventional and the colourful Flying Fish aesthetic.

The Bar One Gym Squad is back for its fourth year running and the finale will be hitting the Durban shore and it is with much excitement to announce that the multitalented music producer and businessman DJ Tira will be this year’s Bar One Gym Squad headliner. DJ Tira  alongside regional gym leaders will be joined by over two thousand consumers for a workout session at the North Beach in Durban on the 24thNovember 2018, followed by a stellar performance from Umalume himself.

Bar One Gym Squad is a community initiative to promote an active lifestyle in township communities across the country. Last year we saw Mr Fill Up Caspper Nyovest headline the Johannesburg finale pulling over thousands of people to join him at the UJ Campus in Soweto.
